Dear Friends:

It was disappointing to learn that there is a possibility that Stiltsville is at risk of becoming an endangered species.

With the benefit of a 13-year perspective on the cultural diversity of South Florida, I am convinced that to lose what remains of Stiltsville after the devastation of Hurricane Andrew would be a terrible blow to Miami and the uniqueness of Biscayne Bay.

I join those who urge that this very special part of Miami's heritage be preserved as an a historic district.
